 Hello Future Sewers! Thank you for your interest in KiDZSew!

 

I would love to share a little bit about myself! I have lived in Orlando since 1992.  I took to sewing around my late teens and have been doing it for over 20 years! My husband and I were married in 1998 and after all 4 of our children where in school, I was excited to go back to school myself and receive a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising. So, in 2015, I graduated from The International Academy of Design and Technology of Sanford Brown College with a B.F.A. Along the way, I had my first fashion show at the Mall at Millenia during Fashion Week 2013, created many collections for school shows, interned at The Collection Bridal in Winter Park, and started a company called Bridal By Design designing Custom Gowns.

As I continue to work on custom Bridal and evening wear, I am eager to teach kids the dying art of Sewing. Unfortunately, schools that once taught this ability is no longer making it essential. How fulfilling would it be to just make a simple skirt, or fix a hem, or even stitch a button? I have enjoyed teaching my own girls this ability and look forward to teaching as many children as I can. You can hire a seamstress or you can teach a child to do it themselves!
